Scale
Breadcrumb Topping
- 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Dip
- 16 ounce jar cocktail onions, drained well and chopped
- 8 ounce block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 Tablespoons ketchup
- 1 Tablespoon white granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon horseradish
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Chop Onions: Drain and chop the cocktail onions into smaller bite-sized pieces, then set aside for mixing later.
- Prepare Breadcrumbs: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the panko breadcrumbs along with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir frequently until the breadcrumbs turn golden brown and crispy. Remove from heat and transfer the toasted breadcrumbs into a bowl.
- Separate Breadcrumbs: Divide the toasted breadcrumbs into two portions. Set aside half for topping the dip later.
- Mix Dip Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, white sugar, horseradish, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper (if using), dried parsley, and the chopped cocktail onions. Use a hand mixer to blend until smooth and creamy.
- Chill if Needed: Transfer the prepared dip into a serving bowl. If not serving immediately, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate to allow flavors to meld and keep the dip fresh.
- Finish and Serve: Just before serving, sprinkle the remaining toasted breadcrumbs and a little extra dried parsley on top for a crunchy, flavorful garnish. Serve with chips, crackers, or veggies and enjoy!
Notes
