Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 3 pieces chicken breasts, cut into cubes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3–4 teaspoons garlic and herb seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Pasta & Sauce
- 1 pound pasta (penne, fettuccine, or your choice)
- 1 jar Alfredo sauce (about 15 oz)
Bread Bowls & Topping
- 6 pieces Kaiser rolls (or more if needed)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3–4 teaspoons garlic and herb seasoning
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Season and cook chicken: Season the chicken cubes evenly with garlic and herb seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and cook the chicken for 6-8 minutes or until fully cooked through, stirring occasionally.
- Cook pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain thoroughly and set aside.
- Prepare bread bowls: Slice the tops off each Kaiser roll. Gently hollow out the centers to create bowls, being careful not to pierce the bottom or sides.
- Make garlic butter and toast bread bowls: Combine the melted unsalted butter with garlic and herb seasoning. Brush the inside and edges of each hollowed bread bowl generously with the garlic butter mixture. Place them on a baking tray.
- Toast bread bowls: Bake the prepared bread bowls at 375°F (190°C) for 4-5 minutes until they are lightly toasted and fragrant.
- Combine pasta, chicken, and Alfredo sauce: In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta and chicken with the Alfredo sauce until everything is evenly coated.
- Fill bread bowls: Spoon the creamy chicken Alfredo mixture into each toasted bread bowl. Sprinkle shredded Parmesan cheese generously over the top of each filled bowl.
- Bake filled bowls: Return the filled bread bowls to the oven and bake for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread becomes crispy.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve immediately. Garnish with chopped parsley or red pepper flakes for an optional extra kick. Enjoy while hot!
Notes
- You can use any type of pasta you prefer; penne or fettuccine works best.
- Kaiser rolls should be fresh to ensure crispiness after toasting.
- Adjust garlic and herb seasoning according to taste preference.
- For a lower-fat version, substitute Alfredo sauce with a lighter cream sauce or cauliflower-based sauce.
- Leftover filling can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days but is best served fresh.
