Scale
Base Ingredients
- 1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise
Cheeses
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
Protein
- 1 cup cooked ground sausage (mild or spicy, crumbled)
Flavorings
- 1 4 oz can diced green chiles, drained
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Serving
- Crackers, tortilla chips, or bread slices
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a medium baking dish or cast-iron skillet to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain off any excess grease to keep the dip from becoming too oily.
- Mix the Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Add Cheese & Flavor: Add the shredded sharp cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, cooked sausage, drained diced green chiles, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Bake the Dip: Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and has a golden top crust.
- Serve Hot: Remove the dip from the oven and garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm alongside crackers, tortilla chips, or slices of bread for dipping.
Notes
- For spicier flavor, use spicy sausage and include the optional cayenne pepper.
- Allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature to make mixing easier.
- Use a cast-iron skillet for a rustic presentation and even heating.
- Leftover dip can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and gently reheated.
- Substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a tangier twist and increased protein.
