  • Author: Andria
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 protein balls 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Nutella Protein Balls featuring a rich chocolate hazelnut flavor combined with protein powder and coconut flour. These no-bake, bite-sized treats are perfect as a quick snack or post-workout boost, with optional chocolate coating for an extra indulgent touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Protein Ball Mixture

  • 2 tablespoons chocolate protein powder
  • 2 tablespoons coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate hazelnut spread (such as Nutella or Nutiva)
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips of choice

Chocolate Coating (Optional)

  • 1 tablespoon chocolate hazelnut spread (such as Nutella or Nutiva)
  • Additional chocolate chips (optional, amount as needed for melting)
  • Cocoa powder for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare mixture: In a medium bowl, combine chocolate protein powder, coconut flour, chocolate hazelnut spread, and chocolate chips. Mix thoroughly until a dough forms. If the dough is too soft, gradually add coconut flour, one teaspoon at a time, until it firms up. If too thick, add a teaspoon or more of water or almond milk to adjust the consistency.
  2. Form balls: Roll the mixture into tablespoon-sized balls using your hands. Place them on a plate and refrigerate for 15 minutes to allow them to set and firm up.
  3. Optional chocolate coating: Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between bursts until smooth. Stir in the additional tablespoon of chocolate hazelnut spread to create a glossy chocolate coating.
  4. Dip and set: Dip each protein ball into the melted chocolate mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Place the coated balls onto parchment paper-lined tray. Lightly sprinkle cocoa powder on top for decoration. Let the chocolate set at room temperature or refrigerate briefly before serving.

Notes

  • Add coconut flour gradually to avoid over-drying the dough.
  • Dipping the balls in melted chocolate is optional but adds richness and texture.
  • Storage: Keep refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • For a dairy-free option, use plant-based chocolate chips and hazelnut spread.
